Now that summer camp is over, you’re rested and have your dirty laundry (and your son’s) all washed and put away, it’s time to tidy up the odds and ends needed to close out your camp experience and lay the groundwork for next year. Continue reading “Summer camp: after you’re home”

Youth protection in the forefront

BSA has taken steps recently to ensure that all registered leaders receive training in youth protection.

After a century developing the nation’s premier youth program, finally there are provisions to help ensure that many of the adults who deal with youth know the rules that we are expected to follow to keep our children safe from abuse. Continue reading “Youth protection in the forefront”

Youth Protection Training

Stay on top of Youth Protection Training. Currently, the training must be taken every two years, and if a member's training has expired, they are no longer considered registered. While many councils send reminders to leaders whose training is about to expire, it's best to check your unit's training records in my.scouting.org and remind anyone whose training has expired or is about to expire to retake the course as soon as they can. It's simple: Just go to my.scouting.org and sign in to take YPT.
